Finland, one of the world’s greatest places to live is the subject of this article written by Olga Khazan. The author often makes comparisons between Finland and the United States stressing how Finland is more developed in various aspects than her coutry. Some examples according to Olga’s of it’s qualities are “cheaper medical care, smarter children, happier moms, better working conditions, less-anxious unemployed people, and lower student loan rates than we do.” Citizens get 36 vacation days per year and families whith kids get 100 euros monthly untill their child reaches age 17. Education in Finland is also one of the best worldwide where kids spend less hours physically at school but surpass academic requirements. Moms also benefit in Finland with four months of payed maternity leave and the mother and father can share a six-month paternal leave also with pay. According to this article Finland has a better organized governmental system that colaborates for the welfare of it’s citizens and is also a rich and developed coutry good for building a family.

            The article is one of compare and contrast between two countries. It includes a lot of partiality to Finland for her cousin is Finnish so Olga, the author has contact with the contry and it’s people. Her expositon includes pictures and charts showing Finland’s success and paragraphs explaining the positive sides of life in Finland. The author did reach her goal to inform and contrast two different countries revealing the truth about each of them in a informal and fun-to-read way.
