7. Obama Seeks Rally Support for Attack In Syria

Michael Gordon writes his article to present the latest actions of American president Obama in his conflict of taking military action against Syria. Not long ago, Syrian government launched a chemical attack against the citizens of Damascus. The neurotoxins killed more than 1,400 people and left other jundreds injured. Allied Eastern countries pleaded for help from the US government, but Obama, who was already decided to take military actions against the Syrian government, decided to take the matter to the congress, where the voice of the people could be heard better and taken into consideration. Still, Syrian politics and supporters saw this action of Obama as a demonstration of weakness and confusion. Yet, an military action against the Syrian government is to be expected, and according to president Obama, no soldiers will have to step their foot in Syrian territory.

Gordon writes his article well by presenting background information to the readers so that they may accompany his essay better. He also present statistics and precise dates of key events that are part of the topic of his article. And since the objective of this essay is only to present information, Gordon does a great job not expressing his opinions or ideas of any side of the table. By doing that, he allows the readers come to their own conclusion about the current events and also make them build ideas of what will happen next.
