An article written by ASSIST News Service talks about the death of five Christians near Jos, Nigeria. The story is narrated by a survivor, named Sunday, who tells the miracle in a first person point of view. An interview from Morning Star News, Sunday lays out his story to the audience. After he was stopped by a mob of gunmen from the mini van,"The gunmen asked me about my religion, and when I told them I was a Christian, they asked me to join a group of people already ordered to lie down by the side of the road." The gunmen search for any money among the group of people, and as soon as he was done started to gun shower the group of Christians. As soon as the first bullet was shot, Sunday hurried to escape. While in the darkness he ran through the bushes to find a refuge, the gunmen shot towards Sunday but missed every bullet. He found a village where he found out the two others among the group of Christians were from. Sunday tells the story to tell people his testimony and of God's grace in his life as he said, "It was not my ability that made it possible for me to escape, but it was God that made me escape to be alive to tell the story of how the attack happened and to show his miracle in my life."
The author finds the foundation of the article from the interview and basically analyzes it and writes this article. This means that the author didn't personally meet Sunday but only saw an interview and based on that wrote this article. This lessens the accuracy of the article. She uses direct quotes to show the real words by Sunday. The article leaps more to the innocent deaths of the martyr and how God has shaped the lives of the ones that survived.
Very interesting article! The intro is a little confusing: "Sunday, who tells the miracle in a first person pov...". Wasn't it talking about killings? That needed some clearing up. Some grammar mistakes, needs a little clarity at times, but the review makes sense. Also make note of rhetorical devices
