4. Climate and onflict: Cloudy with a chance of war

This articles topic is the effect on climate on civilization and how it can affect people and especially the poor. The climate has a direct effect on the price of food and also the people who buy it. When the wether changes the poor who spend mor emoney on it are benefited by the lowering of prices or not by their rising. The author stresses that the rise of food can have many outcomes like disaffection, resentment and maybe violence coming especially from the poor, who dont have as much money to pay for the expensive food. The author goes on stating infromation about researches that are being done in order to see if climate actually has an impact on civilizations. He finishes his artice by saying that the results leave no doubt. Higher temperatresand too much rain have an impacton the violence and conflict.

The conflict however, in this artilcle is the thesis. He does a good job by stating it clearly on the beginning of the article saying tht climate has an effect an can cause disafection, resentment and maybe violence. Throughout the essay he does not go back to the thesis or restate it, he totlly changes gears. In his introduction he did not say anything about researches and suddenly his whole article is about it. By what the thesis said, I came to understand that he would give examples of such civilizations and explain why people would react these ways. Maybe he should have done his introduction clearer so the reader would understand what the essay is goint to be about. He did however achieve his purpose which was to prove that climate can change the way people behave but he coud have done so more clearly by altering his thesis.
