4.We Worship the iPhone: Steve Jobs is our Savior!

In this article, Brett T. Robinson, the author of the article, tells the reader about Steve Jobs', the creator of the iPhone,  life before he introduced to the world his invention.  He talks about how before apple, when Jobs was hacking phones, his first call was to the Vatican. He then, after introducing the world to the iPhone, it linked him again to the Vatican, causing people to call the iPhone, the Jesus Phone. This seemed to spread really quickly, mostly because it introduces us to something that cannot be presented. It works as an advertising and philosophy,  by referring to the way in which vast telecommunications networks and the devices that harness them overdoes our aptitude to explain their inner mechanisms, just as we cannot explain God. He then talks about how Steve Jobs was a "savior" to the telecommunication network.
Brett Robinson is very effective by writing this because he uses many devices that make the article fun to read, which is the main purpose of an article like this one. Robinson uses many puns it the article. A very interesting example of this is the title of the article, "We Worship the iPhone: Steve Jobs is our Savior", he plays with the fact the Vatican was very present in Jobs life, and with the fact that many people are so obsessed with the iPhone that they worship it. He also uses symbolism. Symbolism is present when he talks about the new technology that is the iPhone and how that can symbolize Jesus, because it is so hard to understand a technology (or Jesus) when you can't see it. This article is very effective because it engages the reader into a fun, informative article about something that most readers are already interested in-technology.
